Geneva agreement to be applied

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said, on Monday evening, that they will apply the Geneva agreement in an "open and transparent" way and urged Russia to diverge the "armed separatists" in eastern Ukraine, urging them to lay down their weapons and leave the occupied buildings, reports UNIAN agency.

"Ukraine applies, in an open and transparent way, the agreement concluded in Geneva, informing people about the situation in the country and collaborating closely with the task of supervision of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and all parties involved" in the conflict, mentions the Ukrainian Ministry in a statement.

The Ministry emphasizes that Saturday, Sunday and Monday meetings were held with the participation of the OSCE, to which a diplomat of the Russian Embassy was present.

"All participants, including the Russian representatives, had features to assess Ukraine's efforts in order to implement the agreement" in Geneva, added the Ukrainian diplomat, accusing Moscow of inaction and lack of will in implementing the agreement for easing the situation in Ukraine.

According to the release, "illegal armed groups controlled by the Russian security services, are further contributing to the destabilization of the situation in the east of the country and creates prerequisites for a new stage of Russian military aggression. Because separatists are not supported by the majority of the population in eastern regions of Ukraine, Russia is looking for other ways to destabilize the situation in the area," said the Ukrainian Ministry .
