Fidesz won 95.49% of the votes
Fidesz won 95.49% of the 128 378 votes cast by mail in the general election on April 6, announced the Hungarian National Election Office (NVI) on Thursday, after completing the counting of the ballots.
According to the Bureau, Jobbik (far right) won 2.28% of the vote, the left opposition alliance 1.16% and LMP 0.45%.
The Hungarian citizens who have permanent residence in Hungary were able to express a single vote for the lists submitted by the parties in this election.
According to previous partial results, the party of the Prime Minister Viktor Orban's conservative populist Hungarian, Fidesz, got a score of 44.37% for the list he presented in elections, and the left alliance 25.88%, at the counting of 98 87% of the votes cast lists, Jobbik obtained 20.46% and LMP 5.24%. In total, there were 4,807,450 votes for the lists submitted by the political parties and minorities.
Fidesz was favored in the campaign by the news and legislation, according to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Far-right Jobbik party, one of the most radical in Europe, is rooted in Hungarian politics with a new progress in the legislative elections. The party registered a progress of 3.5 points compared to 2010, when it participated in the first legislative elections. The party has captured much of the protest votes, which "would have left a clear link of the left failure", according to the analysts.
