Study: cancer will never disappear
The 1970’s was the era when doctors and scientists declared the beginning of the war on cancer.
Forty decades later, scientists now say that we will never find a cure to cancer.
The new study, published in Nature magazine, reached the conclusion that cancer, or cells that go bad, are part of every living organism and it’s just a normal, inevitable part of the evolutionary process.
Scientists reached this conclusion after discovering cancer genes in an ancient organism, similar to the coral. Those genes could develop into tumors.
‘Cancer is as old as multi-cellular life on earth and will probably never be eradicated,’ said the lead scientist of the study.
However, not being able to eradicate the disease does not mean that there isn’t any cure for it. It can be treated and, as the researchers put it, ‘knowing your enemy from its origins is the best way to fight it, and win many battles.’
