Titanfall sales between great and fail
It was probably the most awaited video game in 2014 on all platforms and it was not a fail. Online multiplayer shooter Titanfall recorded great figures in it's first month of shelf life.
Electronic Arts, Titanfall publisher reported it has sold almost one million copies in the last three weeks of March. The game was officially launched for Windows PC and Xbox One on March 11 and the figure was official only for the US. However, gaming specialists claim the figure could be double considering Titanfall sales in Europe and some parts of Asia.
Although official figures are great, Titanfall could not help Xbox One surpass its arch rival Play Station 4. The shooter was tied with the console in one package that literally came online in March, but could not perform as well as Microsoft hoped.
EA was reluctant to reveal official Titanfall figures, but NPD rankings named the shooter top selling game of March with 925,000 units sold while VG Chatz said Titanfall has already surpassed the 2.4 million marker worldwide. “We are proud of Titanfall's 3 million sales to date, which is a great start for a brand new IP,” was a less official reaction from EA.
