Target CEO quits after 70M clients data theft
Gregg Steinhafel, Target’s company CEO, is resigning from his position after a hack in the system stole personal information from over 70 million customers.
Steinhafel, who has been with Target for over 35 years, holds himself responsible for the breach in the company’s security systems and ‘pledged that Target would emerge a better company,’ as a company-released statement says.
Although the security software warned the company previous to the customer data theft, Target representatives did nothing to prevent it.
