Supermarket launches high-end smartphone
Tesco, Britain’s largest supermarket company, plans to launch a first own-brand smartphone.
The device will be operating on Google’s Android software and it will be a high-end phone with specifications comparable to those of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 but within a much lower price range.
The phone project follows the launch of the Tesco Hudl tablet which entered the lower-end of the market, selling half a million items for £119 a piece so far.
Plans to release a new improved version of the Tesco tablet are also underway with due date in September.
