Robots will takeover Amazon warehouses
Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, recently announced that, by the end of 2014, 10,000 robots will be working alongside human employees in the company's warehouses.
It seems that the Amazon chief is happy with the 1,000 that are currently working for the company, handling and fulfiling customers orders.
Bezos also added that the number of human employees will not be diminished because of this future change.
The Amazon robots are being built by Kiva Systems, a tech company which Amazon bought two years ago for the price of $775 million.
Future plans for the retailing company include delivering packages to customers' homes via drones. Your order could be delivered to you in only 30 minutes.
However, legal and technical issues are currently preventing the use of drones in such matters and it may still take some years before we could see Amazon drones flying packages all over.
But, on the other hand, customers are able to see the warehouse robots in action as Amazon started offering public tours, beginning with this month.
