Pfizer re-raises AstraZeneca offer
Pfizer wants AstraZeneca really bad. The American pharmaceutical giant announced it had revised and pumped the offer for the Swedish-UK company. AstraZeneca refused about a week ago another proposal from across the Ocean.
AstraZeneca has declined Pfizer for a few times now, but how long is it going to stand tall. Pfizer confirmed recently that it has increased its proposal for AstraZeneca. The US based company released a statement saying that it is now expecting for a response from its European counterpart.
“We have seen significant positive market reaction to the announcement we made on April 28th including from the shareholders of both our companies,” said Ian Real, Pfizer Chairman. He also added a merger would benefit both companies financially.
Specialists say the deal between Pfizer and AstraZeneca is somewhere near the 100 million dollar marker and it could be the biggest pharmaceutical deal in the last ten years.
