Lonmin mine in the 16th week of no production
Protests at the South African Lonmin platinum mine have entered their 16th week and, although still legal, the strikers are becoming increasingly more violent as they try to block anyone's entrance in the mine.
The strike commenced over bad wages and poor working conditions and production at the platinum mine owned by Lonmin has been halted completely.
As some of the rival miners attempt to return to work, protesters are holding ground, stopping anyone from entering the shafts by using sticks and clubs to threaten them.
Although four people have been murdered during last week's protests, no arrests have been made yet.
