
Largest bison farm opened in Romania
The biggest bison farm in Europe was opened in the Dejani Cristur village in Cluj county, with an investment of €1.5 million. The farm houses nearly 300 animals and covers an area of 500 hectares.
The investment company belongs to BT Bison Ranch, which opened a bison farm on an area of 500 hectares of land, in the last two years being made investments of approximately €1.5 million.
According to the farm manager, Constantin Jeican, the farm from Dejani Cristur has nearly 300 bison that were brought from Denmark, Germany, France, Austria and Belgium. They are raised for meat, which will be exported to countries in Western Europe, especially in Germany.
"We intend to continue investing in Cluj county, the budget for the year was of €1.5 million. Buffalos are raised for meat, which will be exported to countries in Western Europe, especially in Germany, where is high demand. We will try to sell bison meat in Romania as well," said the farm manager.
The ranch has about 30 employees, being owned bybusinessmen from Germany and Austria.
