Johnson & Johnson drop surgical tool sale worldwide
Johnson & Johnson, one of the world’s most renowned health companies, has stopped selling worldwide a key surgical tool known as power morcellator.
The company is globally the biggest maker of the tool which is used in a common uterine surgery to remove fibroids.
The cause of the halt in sales issued from the company’s concerns that it could spread cancer in the body. Reportedly, one in 350 women that undergo this type of surgery might develop a form of cancer known as uterine sarcoma.
