Etihad Airways, a Mideast carrier, plans to take airplane first class to a whole new level. The company wants to encompass luxury suites equipped with a personal butler and an in-flight nanny to clients who can afford such a treat.
The company announced yesterday that it plans to build three-room suites into its new Airbus A380s. The ‘Residence by Etihad’ will comprise a two-person bedroom, a private bath equipped with shower and a living room furnished with leather seats, minibar and a 32 inch flat-screen TV.
The apartment comes with several perks: a personal, London-trained butler, an in-flight nanny and first-class onboard chefs.
The suits flight will be available starting with December on the Abu Dhabi-to-London route. Clients who want to enjoy the benefits of the flying suites will have to come up with $21,000 for one way.
The company will also make available a cheaper versions of the suites dubbed ‘First Apartments’ which contain a full-length bed, a wardrobe, couch, minibar and TV.
