Colorado benefits due to marijuana legalization
It's three month now since the state of Colorado made marijuana legal for consumers and it already has a positive effect.
Despite the suppositions the authorities had, the criminality rate dropped to 2.4%, property crime with 14.6% and the additional annual tax budget will grow with $134 million. In the last three months, approximately $14 million worth of product was sold, each month.
"If voters [legalize marijuana], I believe there will be many harmful consequences," r before the amendment was passed. Expect more crime … I think our entire state will pay the price," said Sheriff David A. Weave, before the legalization.
The price for an eighth (3-5 grams) is about $65 and, despite the predictions, proved to be beneficial.
John Hickenlooper, the Governor of the state of Colorado, said that the money collected from this whole business will go towards education, more exactly building new schools and conducting drug awareness campaigns.
