Apple snatches former Nokia engineer

Busy May at Apple. The giant American corporation has been engaged in lots of moves. Recently it has acquired LuxVue, a power efficient LED company, most probably it will acquire Beats electronics for 3.2 billion and now it has also snatched a former Nokia brain.

Engadget.com announced first and later the information was confirmed that Apple hired an engineer who worked at Nokia's PureView camera technology. Ari Partinen has been linked with Nokia Lumia camera technology and it looks like the Finn has declined to stay at Nokia under the new ownership of Microsoft.

Instead he will join Apple, most probably working in the same area. The Finn confirmed the information. “Today will be my last day working for the amazing Lumia family. In June I will start a new chapter in Cupertino, California,” tweeted Partinen. He was a senior engineer with the Lumia project at Nokia where he was in charge of mobile photography and image quality verification.

Nokia's PureView technology was introduced in the Symbian powered devices back in 2012. Eventually the technology was introduced into the Windows Phone Lumia range of smartphones. One of the last devices PureView Image tech was implemented on was the Lumia 1020 that has a 41 megapixel camera.
