Apple & Google shake hands over lawsuit
Apple and Google decided to turn over weapons and, instead, work together. The two tech giants have been fighting over a smartphone patent since October 2010, with no clear victory from either sides.
Google's Motoral Mobility handset unit was the apple of discord between the two companies, with Google filing the first lawsuit over intellectual property and Apple soon following.
Moreover, not only did the two tech giants declared a cease-fire but they also agreed to collaborate on some areas of patent reform.
The statement released by the two companies explained that: 'Apple and Google have agreed to dismiss all the current lawsuits that exist directly between the two companies. Apple and Google have also agreed to work together in some areas of patent reform. The agreement does not include a cross license.'
The deal doesn't include, however, a cease-fire in the Apple versus Samsung electronics lawsuit which is still to be continued after Apple won $120 million from its Korean oponent, earlier this month.
