Vantage S, the beast Aston Martin will release
Aston’s CEO, Ulrich Bez, who is familiar with the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife, calls the 2015 Vantage S model ‘brutal’ and ‘extreme in its nature’, pointing out that this is not a car that you can drive from one city to another without stopping at every race track along the way.
New features that come to bring the old structure up-to-date include carbon-fiber grille inset, extensive vents across the hood. On the inside you are spoiled by a driver-orientated cockpit and two crucial buttons: one for steering response adjustment and one that adapts the machine to Normal, Sport and Track Mode.
A mighty V-12, powered by 565 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, makes the car growl at every touch of the pedal. Sixty mph comes up in an estimated 3.8 seconds.
The only frown Aston will get is for its Graziano-sourced Sportshift III automated manual transmission, one of the reasons the car won’t be suitable for town cruises. Although stiff and quick to respond in back-country highway runs, in Normal mode, automatic shifting comes with a pause.
