Spotify targeted by hackers

The famous Swedish music streaming service was attacked by a hacker. Officials at Spotifiy have confirmed the breach, but also confirmed no financial data was stolen.

After the cyber attack, Spotify came out and said they are aware of the attack. “We have detected unauthorised access to our systems and internal company data. As soon as we became aware on the intrusion, we immediately launched an internal investigation,” was the official statement released by Spotify.

However, the Swedish based music streaming service confirmed the hacker or group of hackers were unable to steal any passwords of various users, any banking or payment information or any other financial data.

Spotify also said it will update its security measures in the next days and ask certain users to change some information. Officials at Spotify claim they have more than 40 million active users around the world. The service is available in excess of 55 countries.
