Solar-powered plane completes first flight
The Solar Impulse 2 is a solar-powered airplane that is on a mission to circle the globe in 2015.
Until then, the plane made its first flight yesterday and eneded the two-hour flight successfully.
Although test pilot Markus Scherdel initially reported some vibrations in the beginning of the flight, the overall outcome was a very promising one.
The airplane took off from the Swiss airfield Payerne at around 5:30 local hour and landed approximately two hours later.
