OSCE attacked by hackers
The official side of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe has been hacked. The announcement was made by OSCE officials. Computer security specialists said it was a DdoS attack.
Officials with the organisation claim they do not know who is behind the cyber attack which consisted in thousands of simultaneous requests to load the website (Distributed Denial of Service). Dunja Mijatovic, OSCE's media representative said someone intended to limit the freedom of expression and called the attack “unacceptable”.
Specialists immediately said the attack has to do something with the situation in Ukraine. OSCE has been seriously involved in the attempt to resolve the crisis in Ukraine where its civilian observers has been the target of kidnapping. Founded in the 70s, during the Cold War, the Organization has 57 state members including Russian, USA, Ukraine and other European countries.
