Nod: one ring to rule them all
Apple, Google, Jawbone and Samsung talents unite under Nod to brink the world a new device, a gesture control ring through which user will be able to command connected devices.
‘We came together with the idea of trying to solve something that we think could possibly be the next computing revolution around input,’ explained Nod Labs CEO and founder Anush Elangovan.
The Nod ring has the ability to repeatedly detect micro-gestures of the index finger such as subtle brushes, swipes and rotations.
‘We wanted to solve the most complicated thing in gestures, which means we wanted to go beyond gimmicks,’ Elangovan said, adding that ‘we wanted people to be able to fully express themselves.’
The ring can be worn all day and used to control your smartphone and smart home connected devices, your Google Glass and other various devices.
The Nod ring went on sale today for the pre-order price of $149 but shipment of the gadget will only begin in fall.
