New Apple OS unveiled
Apple CEO, Tim Cook, proudly unveiled, today, at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, the new iOS 8 and OS X operating systems.
Although the software will not be made available any time sooner than fall of this year, the perks you can expect to enjoy once the software is released are:
A HealthKit app which monitors blood pressure, weight, sleep and heart rates among other health-related data.
A HomeKit through which you can control various things in your house, including thermostats, locks, switches, plugs, cameras and lights. However, this app is not compatible with most systems that are currently on the market.
Users will be able to respond to messages on iPads and iPhones directly from their notification bar, even when the device is in lock mode. In addition, widgets will be made available for the first time on a OS platform.
The Family Sharing app allows up to six family members to share their purchased content with each other. Also, parents can track their child's location and approve, or not, of their new app purchases.
Yosemite, the new OS for Mac, comes with an improved design that resembles iPhones and iPads alongside other improvements brought to the Mail services, Safari browser and a desktop iMessage.
Other perks include the expanded AirDrop, a Dropbox-like app that now lets you begin a text on one device and finish it on another in real time.
Apple named its new iOS 8 the biggest release 'since the launch of the App store.'
