Microsoft prepares its Xbox for the World Cup
The Football World Cup in Brazil that is scheduled to start in one week, is one of the hottest subjects this summer so tech giants turned their eyes to football. Microsoft announced a new sport application for its console Xbox One called “Destination Brazil”.
Microsoft actually wants to place the Xbox One, every gamer's go to platform, for experiencing the 2014 World Cup. The application will connect viewers with a few nice tools to enhance the experience whether you are watching matches, highlights, or following scores or any other football related story.
Destination Brazil will also come with a “Brazil Now” smaller app to open on the side of your TV screen. It will provide any viewer with friends tweets about games, statistics, live match scores and many other interactive things. “Destination Brazil” will be up and running on June 12 just in time for the World Cup opener, Brazil – Croatia.
“What we are trying to really accomplish is a single destination that brings toy the best way to experience these experiences with football, or soccer, depending in the market you are in. This is really how we look at the program, creating this overall mass of content and experience we can put in one place for a point in time that really engages and rewards out fans,” said Matthew Reid, senior product marketing manager at Microsoft for Xbox.
