Lenovo joins the Chromebook market
Lenovo just joined the main stream Chrombook market with its new devices. The Lenovo N20p and the N20 are the first consumer Chromebooks from the Chinese manufacturer, both with great specs and mid-range prices.
Both the N20p and the N20 feature a 11.6 inch screens and a similar 1,366 by 768 pixel display. At their thickest points these two Chromebooks do not exceed 17 mm so they are pretty slim for today's standards. The new and cool thing about the N20p is the touch capability. Even more impressive is when coupled up with the 300 degree hinge. You can rotate back the standard keyboard and just enjoy a tablet experience. However, the same hinge does not fold all the way back so this could be bad news for certain users.
Both devices will come along with Intel Celeron processors and integrated video cards, standard 4 GB of DDR memory and up to 16 GB of on board storage. Most probably it will have storage boosting capabilities through some type of memory card. Both devices will have a built in front camera for social activities, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, but also two USB ports and a mini HDMI port.
Lenovo managed to keep the prices down and it did well. The N20 will go on sale in July for 279 US Dollars, while the p version will hit the market one month later at a cost of 329 dollars.
