Google might release 3D imaging tablet in June
Google is rumored to launch a tablet capable of taking 3D images at the end of June.
Allegedly some 4,000 devices will be manufactures just in time to be presented at the annual Google developers' conference.
The news comes after the company presented, in March, Project Tango designed to incorporate 3D technology in handheld devices such as tablets or smartphones. 200 prototype smartphones had been handed to developers to test.
A 3D image capturing device will be able, by making use of infrared technology to assess volumes of various objects, to create 3D maps of interior spaces.
The only comments the company made regarding Project tango were that it: 'is an attempt to create a mobile device unlike like any other,' and that we can expect 'a mobile device that shares our sense of space and movement, that understands and perceives the world the same way we do.'
