Flappy Bird goes down for good
The most popular game of the year so far, Flappy Bird, was removed from online stores by its creator, Dong Nguyen.
The reason was that the game, as its Vietnamese creator put it, ‘ruins my simple life.’
Flappy Bird, launced in 2013, was mostly advertised on social networks and with 50 million downloads it became the most popular game of 2014, so far, in spite of its rather primitive graphics.
This number one free game in iTunes Store and Google Play, earned Dong as much as $50,000 per day from the game’s advertising revenue.
Although rumors about legal issues ensued Dong’s announcement, he denied having such problems and assured fans that he will keep making other games.
