Fashionable astronauts: NASA's new spacesuit

NASA revealed the future Mars-mission astronaut suit, dubbed the Z-2.

Although NASA stated that the suit presented is only a prototype, they did specify that some features will be incorporated in the suit that astronauts will wear on the first human Red Planet mission.

A special feature is the lighting on the suit that can be customized for each individual and that is based on a luminescent technology.

Another interesting detail about how the suit was made is that a 3D printer printed each part individually so that the spacesuit will fit each astronaut perfectly.

But the suit does have faults of its own, as NASA stated that despite its ‘aesthetic appeal,’ the prototype was not made of a durable material designed to protect space-walking astronauts from micro-meteorite strikes, extreme temperatures and radiation.

Out of 233,431 people who voted which suit was the best for a human mission on Mars, the Z-2 received a 63% favorable vote.
