Boost you car power via smartphones
A very plain looking, box-shaped device, mounted under your car’s bonnet will increase the power of your car by up to 20 percent and reduce fuel consumption, when it is plugged into the car battery.
The creators of this Power Box describe it as ‘the world’s first power box controlled by iPhone and Android.’
Marcin Szychowski, managing Director of V-Tech, the creators of the Power Box, briefly explains how the device functions: ‘After plugging in the box, we fit it into the engine compartment. We can modify fuel pressure, injection time and the operating range of the turbine. These are the main factors required to increase the power of a car.’
Normally, a car enthusiast has to take a trip to an electronics expert who is able to overwrite the factory settings of the vehicle. This new device, however, enables car owners to do the same thing on their own, via an iPhone or an Android smartphone.
‘For Android phones, you use Bluetooth to connect with the box, for iPhones, you use Wi-Fi. Each box has a personalised password. All you need to do is type in your password and it connects and locates the box,’ said V-Tech’s Szychowski.
The power box is made available for the peppered price of 450 euros. The upside is, as V-Tech representatives promise, that it is adaptable to most car models and that it permits users to adapt engine settings in according to the nature of their journey.
In addition, there is no mechanical interference with the engine, meaning that car warranty is not affected.
In the near future, the device will be improved by a new anti-car theft feature and a program designed to detect mechanical defects.
