Bomb squad called to defuse 'Watch Dogs'
Ubisoft is promoting its latest release, the much anticipated “Watch Dogs”, but their last PR stunt went wrong. A copy was sent to a media office in Australia inside a shady box so local police and bomb squad was called in.
A copy of the latest Ubisoft hit “Watch Dogs” was sent to Ninemsn with the note “check your voice mail”. Despite the message they tried to open the box, but it started to beep so everyone was afraid of a terrorist attack. The bomb squad was called in. They opened the package in a safe location to find “Watch Dogs” inside it.
Ubisoft was the first to apologize for the incident. “We unreservedly apologize to Ninemsn's staff for the mistake and for any problems created as a result. We will take additional precautions in the future to ensure this kind of situation doesn't happen again,” was the official statement from Ubisoft.
“Watch Dogs” is an open world action adventure video game developed and published by Ubisoft. The game was released on 27 May for PC, Play Station 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One. Ubisoft is most famous for games such as Far Cry (series), Assassin's Creed (series) or Tom Clancy's (series).
