Amazon smartphone to be released
For over two years, rumors came and went regarding a supposed Amazon smartphone. Although the company is still expected to announce the phone’s debut, spoilers already reached the excited public.
The smartphone will, supposedly, have a groundbreaking technology that includes four cameras able to create a hologram-like 3D image and the user will also be able to control certain features of the gadget just by tilting it at various angles.
Moreover, it seems that Amazon plans to launch not one, but two smartphones, one that will be high-end and one low-end.
Although the company is thought of as a retailing website, since its Kindle e-reader success, Amazon might be more confident when it comes to investing in creating its trademark products.
‘Some companies like Apple, Google and Samsung are very successful in the smartphone space. However many more companies are trying with very little success. The next biggest player is Microsoft Nokia and they only have a few percent market share,’ says wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.
Indeed, if Amazon is releasing its own smartphone, it will have to enter the big-wolves Samsung and Apple territory. Only never-before-seen high-tech features will ensure the retailing company a comfortable place in a phone market.
