Ukrainian PM at Odessa after violent clash
Ukrainian Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, made a public visit to Odessa, the Black Sea port city where, two days earlier, violent street clashes left 40 people dead.
He met with cultural, social and economic leaders from the region and held a minute’s silence for those who perished on Friday.
While talking to reporters, Yatsenyuk blamed those ‘sponsored by Russian Special Services’ for the latest string of violence battles and added that, in the last 24 hours, there had been ‘very active relocation of the troops from Russia to Crimea.’ He did not provide any further information regarding this statement.
The Prime Minister also blamed pro-Russians for the failure of the peace-talks attempts: ‘The process of dialogue had begun, only it was drowned out by the shots from Russian-made Kalashnikovs.’
‘We need to preserve the country, Odessa and each human life; this is our common duty,’ continued Yatsenyuk to reassure the increasingly revolting population.
