LinkedIn has to pay employees $6m in damages
LinkedIn has to pay about $6 million to 359 current and former employees for violations of wages law.
The workers accused LinkedIn of not paying them for their overtime hours.
The US-based company defended itself by saying it did not posses, at that time, adequate tools to properly track extra hours put in by its employees.
A government investigation reached the same conclusion and a Labor Department representative explained that: LinkedIn has ‘shown a great deal of integrity by fully cooperating with investigators and stepping up to the plate without hesitation to help make workers whole.’
In other news, LinkedIn is currently enjoying a prolific period after it registered a 45 boost in revenue for the second quarter of this year, as compared to the same period of last year, surpassing analysts’ expactations.
The company currently numbers 313 million users.
