French and Italian guys are womanisers

French and Italian men are the champions of Europe, when it comes to infidelity. Over 55% of men and almost a third of women (32% in France and 34% in Italy) fall into temptations, according to a survey made in six countries by the French Insititute of Public Survey, published today.

The procentage of men who were unfaithful is lower in countries with protestant religion, like United Kingdom (42%) or Germany (46%), while this number reaches up 51% in Belgium, after studying opinions in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and United Kingdom.

"This thing tends to confirm, after all the fuss around 'Gayet business' and after all international news regarding the womaniser temper of French, the cliches about latin lover, unfaithful by definition" said François Kraus, director at French Insititute of Public Survey.

The revealing, at the beginning of January, of French president Holland's relationship with actress Julie Gayet fed the commnets from newspapers among the world, regarding the love afairs of French people.

"Hollande and Berlusconi, renowned now internationally from this point of view, represent, finally, pretty well the nations they belong to", François Kraus added.

Infidelity is better balanced between sexes in northern countries, especially in Germany, where 43% of women admitted they were unfaithful, unlike 29% in United Kingdom.

Italy is the country where infidelity, but also seduction play and exchange of sweet talk messages are the most spreaded, according to the survey.

Exposure to infidelity has the highest rank in France: more than a French guy ot of three (35%) says that he might become unfaithful in the future, if they would know for sure their partner will never find out, compared to only 31% among Germans and Spanish, 30% among Belgians, 28% among Italian and 25% among British guys.

The survey was made between 7th and 13th of September 2013, through an online quiz to which answered 4.800 people with ages above 18 years old.

Each country had around 800 respondents.
