Carlos Slim proposed a 'three day working week'
How would a three day working week sound like? 99 percent of people working people would say: paradise. It's the vision of a billionaire. Mexican businessman Carlos Slim proposed the measure as a way to improve productivity and the quality of life.
Slim attended at a business conference in Paraguay where he addressed his proposal. He also proposed a longer day of work, but a shorter working week and he also said people could work until they are older following this way.
“With three work days a week, we would have more time to relax, for quality of life. Having four days off would be very important to generate new entertainment activities and other ways of being occupied. People could also work for more years until they are 70 or 75 and just work three days a week, perhaps 11 hours a day,” the billionaire said at the conference according to Paraguay.com.
Apparently, Carlos Slim really cares about his employees. He is the CEO of Telemex, a fixed phone line communications company which introduced a new form of contract to its employees. Telemex employees who want to work after retirement can do it at full pay but only working four hours a week. Also any employee who joined the company in their teens can access early retirement.
