Forget dinner for weight loss and diabetes control
A new study comes to aid those with diabetes as well as those who are on a mission to lose weight.
'We confirmed the ancient proverb eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper,' said lead researcher of the study which proved that, by eating 2 meals a day, type 2 diabetes can be held under control.
Volunteers with diabetes were split into 2 groups which were supposed to eat the same number of calories per day, only one group ate six meals daily and the other only two meals.
The result is that those who ate only breakfast and lunch lost more weight, had lower blood sugar and a better insulin management than those who consumed six meals per day.
'The patients were really afraid they would get hungry in the evening but feelings of hunger were lower as the patients ate until they were satisfied. But when they ate six times a day the meals were not leaving them feeling satisfied. It was quite surprising,' explained the lead researcher.
