Exercise, but not too much!
The British Heart Foundation has revealed that long-term endurance exercises lead to a drop in an important protein which regulates the heart.
The study was performed on lab mice which showed lowered heart rates after undergoing the physical activities.
The study thus explains why people who had long been loyal to doing fitness exercises experienced, later in their lives, lower resting heart rates, some even requiring a pacemaker as they aged.
However, researchers still encourage everyone to do more physical exercises because the advantages of working out overtake the drawbacks.
