Easy detox tips

Cut the booze

Give your liver a break. Stop intoxicating it and let it do its job. Imagine how you'd be able to work properly in a constant hungover state.

Drink green tea

Expel the toxins and give your metabolism a boost by drinking a cup of green tea every morning.

Eat pro-biotic yogurt

Pro-biotic yogurt is very healthy and it will help your body get rid of those nasty toxins. A recent study published in the Journal of Gastroenterology also showed that eating yogurt regularly may positively affect brain function.

Avocados

Avocados have antioxidant properties and are rich in healthy fats and vitamins. They also help keep your liver healthy - perfect if you've been enjoying a bit too much wine lately! Tip: add avocado to your smoothies and salads.

Wholemeal bread

White bread contains unhealthy saturated fat whereas brown bread has more nutritious value and it keeps feeling fuller for longer, reducing all kinds of cravings for unhealthy snacks.

Blueberries

Blueberries enter the category of 'super foods' and are jam packed with antioxidants. They also have potential benefits for the nervous system and for brain health, studies revealed. Mash some up with organic yogurt or freeze them to make a tasty snack.

Lemon instead of sugar

Instead of adding sugar to your tea, try adding lemon to enhance the taste and make the health kick stronger.

Sleep well

Nothing makes you feel more fresh than a good nights sleep. Turn off the TV and your phone, take a hot bath and snuggle up with a book. You'll be out for the count before you know it. Choose comfortable bedding and put a few lavender essential oil drops on your pillow if you have trouble falling asleep.

Cut the coffee

Ironically, coffee might make you feel even more tired if you're not properly hydrated. Try and keep your coffee/tea intake to 2 cups a day and avoid caffeine all together after 4pm.

Hit the outdoors

Take a nice long walk to enjoy nature and fresh air. After stretching your legs and filling your lungs with some clean air you'll feel like brand new.

Try meditation

Your mind also needs detoxing. A few minutes of meditation every day will help you with that. Free yourself from stress and worries and fill your mind with constructive thoughts.
