A better alternative to shampoo: the No-Poo method

The No-Poo method which involves washing the hair with shampoo is healthier, cheaper and makes your hair grow faster.

This is a way to wash your hair without using shampoo. There are many variations, but the most popular is the one that uses baking soda and vinegar.

Why give up the shampoo and conditioner?

When you wash your hair with normal shampoo, which is actually a detergent, all the traces of dirt and sebum are removed. Therefore, your hair will be dry and you will feel the need to use conditioner to replace the 'oil', naturally produced by your scalp, with an artificial one.

Another effect is that the shampoo dries of the scalp. And dry skin, be it skin or scalp, trying to defend itself will produce more sebum. This explains the fact that some people have very oily hair only one day after washing it and often have to repeat the operation.

What happens when you use the No-Poo method?

Because it's not reached by shampoo anymore, the hair keeps the sebum and the scalp is not irritated by chemicals, so it won't have the tendency to produce excessive sebum. You'll notice that you can stay a few good days without washing your hair. And if you have normal or dry hair you can wash it even once a week.

If you use the No-Poo method long enaugh, you will notice that your hair becomes softer, easier to comb and style and that the loops are 'calmer' and more defined. It seems that the hair even grows faster and obviously you don't need to spend money on expensive shampoos, conditioners and masks.

How to do it?

First, mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a cup of water. Apply the solution on the scalp, you don't need to apply it on the entire hair length, and massage gently. Then leave it for a few minutes while you finish showering.

Then, mix two tablespoons of vinegar to a cup of water. Ideally, you should have a bottle container to put the solution into. Once you have rinsed the bicarbonate and water paste, apply in the hair length, not on the scalp, the solution of water and vinegar. Let it work one minute, then rinse thoroughly, and that's it!
