12 Karmic laws

Karma means 'action' in Sanskrit as the equal of Newton’s law of cause and effect ‘every action must have a reaction’. Anything we think, say or do, will commence a consequent response which cannot be escaped.

Here is what you need to know about karmic laws:

The great law.

Or, the “law of cause and effect” - this means that whatever we do, will come back to us – we should be a true friend if we want a real friendship and shouldn't betray people if we don't want to be betrayed. This is also known as “As you sow, so shall you reap”.

The law of creation.

We should always be ourselves and live as we want our lives to be – surrounded with people and events that we want to be present in our life, that requires our participation, it doesn't just happen.

The law of humility.

We see bad things around us just because we are nit focused on a higher level of existence. Everything we refuse to accept will continue.

The law of growth.

“Wherever you go, there you are”. The only thing that we actually own and have control over, is ourselves. Whatever we want to happen to us, requires a change in ourselves, not in people or things around us.

The law of responsibility.

If something goes wrong in our lives, it means that there is something wrong inside us - we mirror what surrounds us and what surrounds us mirrors us – this is a Universal Truth. We must take responsibility for everything that is in our life.

The law of connection.

Past-Present-Future they are all connected, each step leads to the next step, and neither one of them is of greater significance, as they are both needed to accomplish the task. Even if something we do seems inconsequential, it is very important that it gets done as everything in the Universe is connected.

The law of focus.

When our focus is on Spiritual Values, it is impossible for us to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger. You can not properly think of two things at the same time.

The law of giving and hospitality.

If you believe something to be true, then sometime in your life you will be asked to prove that particular truth. Here is where we put what we claim that we have learned, into actual practice.

The law of here and now.

Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams, prevent us from having new ones. Looking backward to examine what was, prevents us from being totally in the here and now.

The law of change.

History repeats itself until we learn the lessons that we need to change our path.

The law of patience and reward.

All Rewards require initial toil. Rewards of lasting value require patient and persistent toil. True joy follows doing what we’re supposed to be doing, and waiting for the reward to come in on its own time.

The law of significance and inspiration.

You get back from something whatever you have put into it. The true value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it. Every personal contribution is also a contribution to the Whole. Lack luster contributions have no impact on the Whole, nor do they work to diminish it. Loving contributions bring life to, and inspire, the Whole.
