10 Super Tips for your health

Do it like a cat.

For a better circulation and digestion and in order to ease the back pain, do some stretching exercises when you wake up.

Eat your breakfast.

Especially if you're trying to lose some weight, don't skip your breakfast. Eat fruits or drink fruit juice, have some high-fibre cereals, low-fat milk or yoghurt and an egg.

Brush on your brushing.

Incorrect brushing is as bad for your teeth as no brushing at all. Brush for at least two minutes, including the teeth, the junction of the teeth and gums, the tongue and the roof of the mouth. Don't forget about flossing and mouthwash.

Train your brain.

Brush your teeth with your 'other' hand, take a new itinerary to school or to work or choose your clothes differently. All these exercises are 'neurobics' for your brain, according to American researchers and they help to strengthen and preserve brain circuits and lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease and age-related mental decline.

Have a glass.

A recent study revealed that a glass of red wine a day is good for you. The polyphenols found in red wine, green tea and olives, may protect you from environmental carcinogens and passive tobacco smoke.

Pump your bones.

After the age of thirty, you need daily intake of calcium to keep your bones strong. Include milk and yoghurt in your diet, or pop a tab daily, but only combined with magnesium, or it won't be absorbed.

Keep it hot.

Spicy foods trigger endorphins, the 'happy hormones'. They will help you feel good and, as a bonus, burn some fat.

Tomayto, tomahto.

A rockstar veggie, tomato contains anticarcinogenic lycophene and loads of vitamin C. Tomatoes and apples can also reduce the risk of asthma and chronic lung diseases, according to the British Thoracic Society.

Water is the answer.

Never replace pure water with soft drinks or energy drinks. Only water will help you to stay properly hydrated and to have enough energy.

Run dirty.

Your ankles, knees and hips may start hurting after you run long distances on hard pavement. Head for the dirt instead - graded roads are a lot easier on your joints.
