Transformers tops the Box Office
Michael Bay has “struck oil” with “Transformers Age of Extinction”. His 3d blockbuster topped 100 million dollar in North America and the first week is not over yet. “Transformers 4” is the first movie to do so in 2014.
The movie is considered a reboot and according to figures, Michael Bay did a fantastic job. Despite receiving a few bad reviews and some criticism, Michael Bay changed the cast and allegedly it was the thing that took him this far. Staring Mark Wahlberg, Nicole Peltz and Jack Reynor, the movie outperformed everything in Asia.
The movie broke all records in China earning close to the 100 million dollar marker, but Bay went a step further into making the movie popular in China including shooting at some iconic sights such as the Great Wall.
Transformer also did great in Russia where it generated more than 20 million dollars and the same figure was topped in South Korea also. The movie had an estimated budget of 160 million dollars. Paramount can already report a success. Allegedly the movie generated earnings close to 300 million dollars world wide.
Transformers Age of Extiction takes place a few years after the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons in Chicago in the last episode of the franchise.
