Jodie Foster marries her girlfriend

Jodie Foster's representative confirmed that the actress has married her girlfriend, Alexandra Hedison, a photographer and actress.

The Oscar-winning actress publicly came out as gay during her speech at Golden Globe Awards last year.

Jodie Foster, 51, has two sons with her former partner Cydney Bernard. Their relationship ended in 2008 after they were together for 20 years.

Ms Foster and Ms Hedison had begun dating last year, sources report.

Alexandra Hedison previously dated US comedian and chat-show host Ellen DeGeneres.
