Game of Thrones stars are heading to Spain
After taking the crew throughout Europe, Game of Thrones will stop in Spain. The producers of the fantasy TV drama hit show are planning to film part of the fifth season in the Iberian Peninsula.
Great news for Game of Thrones fans. Days after season four premiered in April, HBO renewed the Franchise for a fifth and sixth season. Parts of the scenes in the four seasons so far had been filmed in Scotland, Croatia, Iceland, Morocco, Malta or Northern Ireland. Now, it's producers turned their eyes to Spain.
According to US magazine Entertainment Daily, parts of the fifth season will be shot in Andalusia. The information was confirmed by a former HBO employee and it looks like the producers are already in advanced negotiations with the Andalusian Film Commission.
If the project goes ahead, Spain will become the seventh country to feature in the hit TV show that is based on George R.R Martin's “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
