'Friends' actor helped catch a criminal

David Schwimmer, best known for interpreting Ross Geller on the hit show 'Friends', has helped police solve a stabbing case by sharing footage taken on his surveillance camera.

The incident happened in an apartment in a neighboring building from Schwimmer's. Three individuals got physical after an argument involving a computer theft. One of them suffered several stab wounds to the face.

The alleged stabber was arrested but a third individual, who fled the scene, was captured after Schwimmer stepped in to aid the police with their case.

The criminal was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and robbery.
