'DSK' to sue Welcome to New York movie makers
“Welcome to New York” barely premiered and the first law suit was announced. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the IMF will sue the makers of the movie for defamation.
The announcement was made by Dominique Strauss-Kahn's lawyer. The movie, set to be released this year follows DSK's powerful position. A mad man, driven by a frenzied and unbridled sexual hunger. The movie is also based on the sexual scandal that saw DSK charged with the raping of a hotel maid in US.
“Welcome to New York” stars Gerard Depardieu as the main character, but also features Jacqueline Bisset, Drena de Niro, Amy Ferguson and Paul Calderon. The movie directed by Abel Ferrara was not appreciated by the man who gave the story.
DSK's lawyer confirmed his client saw the movie and he was disgusted by it. Strauss-Kahn also asked his lawyer to file suit against the movie makers for defamation.
Strauss-Kahn was arrested in May 2011 while he was boarding on a plane heading to Paris. Allegedly he paid in excess of 1.5 million dollars in damages so the maid to drop the civil suit.
