Chelsea Clinton to become a mommy

Chelsea Clinton, 34, daughter of the former US president Bill Clinton, announced at a female empowerment event in New York City that she and her husband, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, are expecting their first child.

"Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year and I certainly feel all the better, whether it's a girl or a boy, that she or he will grow up in a world full of so many strong female leaders," she said.

This will be the first grandchild of Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton. In an interview from 2011, when asked what kind of grandmother she thought she'd be, Hillary said: "Probably an unbearable one - the kind who is saying, 'Oh, my gosh, I'll take the child, I'll do whatever you need to get done.'"
