Why Ferrari employees smile
Workers at Ferrari can feel their employer’s success on their own skin as they have been granted a €4,000 bonus for helping make 2013 the best year yet for the company.
As Ferrari reached record profit levels in 2013, employees also had their share of joy, receiving a ‘production bonus’ worth over €4,000, approximately three months of their salary, ‘in recognition of the excellent financial results achieved last year ... in addition to other parameters, such as levels of quality’, as the automaker put it.
The bonus is part of a three-year bonus plan and it’s Ferrari’s way of saying thank you for helping the company boost their sales and profitability to new record numbers.
Although Ferrari had cut-down on their number of cars sold as a strategy aimed at maintaining their exclusivity, it still increased it’s revenue by 5%, meaning €2.3 billion, and raised their profits by 8%.
The company has limited its car production line to making 7,000 machines annually. In 2013, 6,922 cars were shipped, numbering 400 cars less than the previous year.
