French novelist sued by Scarlett Johansson
Hollywood star, Scarlett Johansson is suing a French novel author. She is seeking 50.000 euros in damage from the author and his publisher JC Lattes over the best selling novel “The first thing we look at”.
Scarlett Johansson moved recently to Paris with her boyfriend. However, she did not find peace, but trouble. The novel “La premier chose qu'on regarde” features a heroine called Janine Foucamprez and she resembles to Johansson. Now, the actress is claiming the author and his publisher used her image without her knowledge. The novel sold more than 100,000 units since it was published about a year ago.
The author's attorney, Anne Veil, said no invasion of privacy was committed. The novel presents flirts that never existed. The final decision over the law suit will be taken on the second of July. Mean time, Scarlett Johansson is preparing to attend the Cannes film festival.
The Hollywood actress moved recently to Paris with her fiance, French journalist Romain Dauriac. She is best known for her leading roles in movies such as Iron Man, Under the Skin, Captain America or The Avengers.
