Netflix pumps-up its prices

Kevin Spacey’s political drama, House of Cards, brought Netflix into a suitable position to raise its prices.

Although nor the amount of the increase, nor the time it would come into effect have been made public, yet, Netflix announced on Monday its plan to raise prices for new subscribers.

Evidence that the raise was due to come at some point was visible since January when the company increased prices by one euro only in Ireland, as if they were testing the grounds for a more extended growth of the subscribing fee.

Giving that Netflix will now impose an increase of $1 or $2 for subscribers everywhere, the fair assumption is that the Irish negative reaction was withheld at a minimum.

The streaming company explained its decision by saying that higher prices ‘will enable us to acquire more content and deliver an even better streaming experience.

However, good news come to those who already subscribed as, for them, prices will remain the same ‘for a generous time period,’ Netflix promised.
