‘Lego Movie’ brings Time Warner a fortune
Time Warner, Hollywood giant, boosted its first-quarter net income with the aid of Warner Bros. ‘The Lego Movie’ and HBO show ‘True Detective’.
The company’s performances were better even than analysts’ estimates.
The figures made public show a 14 percent revenue increase for Time Warner to $3.1 billion in the first three months of 2014.
‘The Lego Movie’ helped the company buy another franchise while ‘Game of Thrones’, the most-watched TV show since the Sopranos, increased revenue at HBO by 9 percent, to $1.3 billion.
To draw a line, the Time Warner company earned, for this first quarter, $1.29 billion, up $754 million since the same period of last year.
