Intel reports 12 billion dollars revenue
Intel recently announced its 2014 first quarter results. The American chip maker meat its expectation with a 12.75 billion Dollars in revenue.
However, not quite everything work great at Intel. The giant company reported a 0.37 dollars per share earning which is lower than anything registered last year. The preceding quarter brought almost 14 billion dollars in revenue and earnings per share of 0.51 dollars, but specialists say it was due to holiday sales.
The broke down revenues show Intel's PC division registered 7,9 billions in the first three months of 2014. The biggest boost in percentage was recorded in the Data Center Group with revenues above 3 billions and a 11 percent increase than the same period of 2013. “In the first quarter we saw solid growth in the data center, signs of improvements in the PC business, and we shipped 5 million tablet processors, making strong progress on our goal of 40 million tablets for 2014. Additionally, we demonstrated out further commitment to grow in the enterprise,” said Brian Krzanich, Intel's CEO.
Intel expects 13 billion revenues for the second quarter. The giant American chip maker is leading by far the market share in front of AMD, Qualcomm or Samsung.
